Enugu State Governor Endorses Nollywood Series, City of Dreams

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, today shared an update on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @PNMbah, announcing his endorsement of an upcoming Nollywood series titled City of Dreams.

This followed a courtesy visit from the series’ lead creator and Nollywood star, Jide Kene Achufusi, popularly known as Swanky JKA.

In the post, the Governor expressed excitement about the project, which will be set and filmed in Enugu, praising Swanky JKA as a “shining example of the immense talent Enugu continues to produce.”

Governor Mbah wrote: “Yesterday, I had the pleasure of receiving the Nollywood celebrated actor and movie producer, Jide Kene Achufusi, popularly known as Swanky JKA, @iamjidekene , as he paid a courtesy visit to discuss his upcoming movie series, City of Dreams, which will proudly be set right here in Enugu State.

“Jide Kene is a shining example of the immense talent Enugu continues to produce. He was born, raised, and educated right here in our Coal City. His work speaks to the excellence and creativity that define our people.

“City of Dreams is not just a film; it is a tribute to Enugu, the most beautiful city in Nigeria. With its scenic views, rolling hills, tranquil lakes, mystical caves, and breathtaking waterfalls, Enugu is a natural hub for tourism and storytelling. It is a city rich in culture and heritage, and we’ll be proud to see it showcased on such a platform.

“I fully endorse this project and pledge the support of the Enugu State Government, not just to Jide Kene, but to all young creatives who are working to take our stories to the global stage. We are building an Enugu where talent is nurtured, creativity thrives, and dreams come alive.

“I also encourage our vendors, local business owners, and corporate brands to partner with the production team and take full advantage of the opportunities this project will bring, from job creation to visibility and promotion of our local enterprise.

“Wishing Swanky great success in this bold new chapter. Enugu is proud of you. Keep soaring!”, he stated.

The post has since gained attention from his fans, netizens and Nollywood stakeholders alike, marking a promising development in Enugu’s creative and tourism sectors.
