Ensure CAN’s growth, Tinubu’s group tasks Okoh

A support group, Christian Youths Movement for Tinubu/Shetima 2023, has felicitated the new President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh.

The group also urged Okoh to use his wealth of his experience “to chart a progressive vision and agenda for CAN”.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the National Coordinator of the group, Emmanuel Adeleke, the copy which was made available to journalists on Wednesday.

According to the group, the emergence of Okoh as the head of the Christiandom was timely and appropriate, considering various challenges facing the country and the need for spiritual direction.

The group expressed hope and confidence in the new CAN President’s capacity and wealth of experience to serve as an illuminating compass for the Christian body.

The statement read in part, ”We heartily congratulate you on your recent victory at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) election where you emerged as President and leader of the noble body of Christian believers.

“It is our deep belief that there could be no better time to bring in someone of your calibre than now when this exalted body is faced with a myriad of national issues requiring urgent attention. Indeed this is an opportunity for you to bring in your wealth of experience to chart a progressive vision and agenda for CAN.

“We are confident of your capability to steer the wheels of the great Christian body and lead the entire Christiandom as the Lord Jesus Christ admonishes.

“As our name implies above, we wish to use this medium to formally introduce our association, which comprises many intellectuals and politicians from the length and breadth of this country. We shall use our position to support your administration in any way that can add value to CAN and Nigeria.

“We wish you a successful tenure even as we affirm the assurance of our esteem regards.”
