Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has departed Saudi Arabia as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East.
The 41-year-old forward reportedly travelled to Madrid, Spain, aboard his £61 million Bombardier Global Express private jet. Ronaldo, whose club is currently in contention for the league title, resides in Riyadh — a city that has recently come under attack as the regional conflict intensifies.
Reports indicate that Riyadh has been targeted by Iranian strikes for four consecutive days. Overnight, two drones allegedly struck the United States embassy in the Saudi capital, while Iranian state media claimed that a command and staff facility in Bahrain was also destroyed.
Flight tracking data shows that Ronaldo’s aircraft took off at about 8:00 p.m. and completed the nearly seven-hour journey, landing in Madrid at approximately 1:00 a.m.
His departure comes amid growing security concerns in the region as hostilities continue to unfold.
