The Imama community of Iwollo town in Ezeagu local government area in Enugu state, has commended the efforts of the Former Deputy president of the Senate, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, over some major road construction projects in their community.
UGAMATV gathered this during the second round of inspectional tour around the Ezeagu north, a part of the Enugu west Senatorial District, which the Senator represents in the Nigerian Senate.

However, Amid the celebrations, a developmental group of the community, called, Imama Women Development Union(IWDU), had presented a letter of request for assistance in a water source project sited in their community.
We learnt that this particular Borehole project, located along the Imama Obinagu-Oyofo road, was awarded to a certain Copper Construction company in 2006, however, it was left without completion.
After several years, the aforementioned women Developmental group worked along side the other indigenes to do some of the needed works on the borehole, such as purchasing of Sumo starter and flushing of the Borehole etc.
At this point, they need a dire intervention from the government, hence, seizing the opportunity of the visit by sen. Ekweremadu, they laid down the following requests:
-Purchasing of the water Engine
-Supplying power from the transformer
-Building a security house and hedge for the engine.
-purchasing an overhead tank
-laying of pipes to convey the water into the villages.

While Addressing the audience available at the Borehole location,
Sen. Ekweremadu commended the efforts of the women group, telling them of the possiblity of tracking down the contractor, to ascertain the reason for the project suspension.
Continuing, he expressed his satisfaction over the synergy between the women. He stated that one of the major deterrent in the water for all initiative, was securing a safe place for the engines, to avoid theivery by village no-gooders, but with the existing understanding and the show of leadership by the women, he is assured of safe hands for the Borehole machines.
Assuringly, he told them that he has conferred with the lead engineer, for the water for all initiative, Engr. Ivoke, and have arrived at the conclusion that all the necessary refurbishments be done and have water flowing in the community before the end of September, even without the initial contractors.
