CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE’S FATHER DIES AT 88

Professor James Nwoye Adichie, the father of renowned Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has died.

Late Professor Adichie died on Wednesday night June 10. Before his death, he was admitted into the Chira Memorial Hospital in Awkuzu, Oyi local government area of Anambra State.

The Emeritus Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) celebrated his 88th birthday on March 1.

He was the first Nigerian Professor of Statistics. He became a Professor of Statistics in 1976.

He is survived by his wife and children.

May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
