British Monarch, King Charles Writes President Tinubu, Lays Out Expectations

King Charles III of the United Kingdom on Tuesday wrote to the new Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, congratulating him and his Vice, Kashim Shettima, for assumption of office after their inauguration on Monday.

King Charles in the congratulatory message to Tinubu said that the UK government looked forward to building a deeper relationship and friendship with Nigeria under President Tinubu.

King Charles said, “Dear Mr. President, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to you on your inauguration as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to send you every possible good wish as you assume the many responsibilities of your office.
