AWGU NYSC CAMP REBORN: Hon. OKOLO INSPECTS MBAH’S MASSIVE REVAMP, HAILS GOVERNOR AS “GOD-SENT” TO ENUGU

The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing total overhaul of the Awgu NYSC Orientation Camp, a landmark project initiated by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah.

The camp, which was previously shut down due to severe deterioration and infrastructural decay, is currently undergoing a comprehensive transformation aimed at restoring its status as a befitting orientation facility for corps members. Governor Mbah’s intervention has ushered in a new phase of development, with the construction of modern facilities designed to meet contemporary standards.

Key components of the project include a 2,000-capacity multi-purpose hall, 500-capacity hostels, newly built staff quarters, a solar-powered borehole system, and well-constructed access roads fitted with solar street lights leading to the camp. The scale and quality of the ongoing work underscore the administration’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and youth development.

Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Okolo commended Governor Mbah for what he described as visionary leadership and unprecedented infrastructural strides across the state. He noted that the Governor’s bold initiatives are repositioning Enugu as a model of progress and excellence.

According to the Chairman, the revitalization of the Awgu NYSC Camp is not only a boost to youth empowerment but also a significant step toward enhancing the socio-economic profile of Awgu Local Government and its environs. He described Governor Mbah as “God-sent to Ndi Enugu,” adding that the ongoing projects reflect a deliberate and inclusive approach to grassroots development.

Hon. Okolo further reaffirmed his administration’s alignment with the Governor’s developmental agenda, emphasizing that Awgu Local Government remains committed to complementing state efforts in delivering sustainable growth and prosperity to the people.

The inspection visit stands as a testament to the synergy between the state and local government in driving transformational change and building the Enugu of the people’s dreams.
