AnambraDecides: Soludo wins Anambra governorship election

Incumbent governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Charles Soludo has been re-elected as the Governor of Anambra State following the declaration of results from all 21 local government areas (LGAs) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

 

 

 

 

 

According to INEC, a total of 584,054 votes were recorded across the state on Saturday, November 8. Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured a commanding victory with 422,664 votes, far ahead of his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes. Other results include ADC: 8,208 votes and PDP: 1,401 votes.

 

 

 

 

 

State Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, announced the figures after the collation exercise on Sunday at the commission’s headquarters in Awka.
