The maiden edition of the Africa International Christian Film Festival (AICFF) has concluded in Abuja with a passionate appeal to Christian filmmakers across Africa to embrace excellence and reclaim storytelling rooted in faith and kingdom values.
Held from June 3 to 6 at Silverbird Cinemas, the four-day festival brought together filmmakers, actors, producers, church leaders, distributors and media professionals from across the continent for a historic gathering focused on strengthening Africa’s faith-based film industry.
Under the theme, “God’s Creative Army,” participants engaged in film screenings, masterclasses, panel discussions and networking sessions aimed at building a thriving ecosystem for Christian storytelling. Speakers consistently challenged creatives to combine spiritual conviction with professional excellence to shape culture through impactful narratives.
The festival ended with the AICFF Awards 2026, where “Where The River Divides” emerged as the biggest winner, taking home six awards, including Overall Best Film. Organisers said preparations are already underway for an expanded 2027 edition as the movement to position African faith-based films on the global stage gains momentum.
