In a moving moment of spiritual unity, emotional renewal, and shared purpose, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, paid a heartfelt visit to the Agbogugu Women’s Association during their August General Meeting, delivering not just promises — but power, presence, and purposeful action.
Held at Agbogugu, the yearly convention brought together a powerful assembly of women from home and abroad — spiritual mothers, traditional leaders, and social change-makers — in a gathering rich with praise, gratitude, and the spirit of sisterhood. The meeting reflected the unyielding strength and resilience of women and their indispensable role in the socio-economic growth of communities.
With grace and humility, Hon. Okolo was received by the association’s President-General, Mrs. Chukwuonu Esther Uchenna, who welcomed him with joy and heartfelt words. She also took the opportunity to passionately appeal for support in completing their long-standing conference hall project and expanding their “Help the Poor” Women Empowerment Program, designed to uplift widows, orphans, and low-income families in the community.
In what can only be described as a divine response, Hon. Okolo, deeply moved by the vision and faith of the women, immediately donated ₦1 million to the empowerment program. With unwavering conviction, he also pledged the immediate completion of the women’s conference hall, promising that their dream of a central hub for fellowship, mentorship, and development would soon become reality.
“Where women are empowered, families flourish, and when families flourish, communities rise,” Hon. Okolo declared. “This is not just a donation. It is a covenant with our mothers, sisters, and daughters — a covenant of support, love, and shared destiny.”
He also reaffirmed his administration’s alignment with the transformative leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, stressing that both the state and local governments remain deeply committed to women-inclusive governance, social equity, and community-driven development.
In a spirit-filled Vote of Thanks, Mrs. Francis Okorie, President of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of St. James Parish, offered prayers of gratitude and pledged continued support for Hon. Okolo’s administration and for the progressive governance of Governor Mbah.
The atmosphere, filled with songs of thanksgiving and joyful ululations, spoke volumes — not just about the significance of the day, but about the rising hope in the hearts of Awgu’s women.
This visit was not only a political gesture; it was a spiritual call answered. It exemplified how responsive leadership, grounded in compassion and collaboration, can breathe life into the dreams of the people.
Through his actions, Hon. Okolo is building more than structures — he is building legacy, trust, and spiritual solidarity, laying foundations not just in concrete, but in hearts.
