Gov Mbah’s Smart School System Marks a Paradigm Shift in Education – Engr Beloved-Dan

In what has been widely described as a historic and visionary intervention in the education sector, the Executive Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Engr Beloved-Dan Anike, has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for the unprecedented transformation of public education in Enugu State through the Smart Green School initiative.

During an inspection tour on Monday of the Smart Green School projects within his council area ahead of the September 2025 resumption date, Engr Anike declared the initiative a “paradigm shift” and “a bold blueprint for the future of learning in Nigeria.”

“Only a visionary and courageous leader like Governor Peter Mbah could muster the audacity to conceive and implement such a radical transformation in education. This is not just an upgrade — this is a new era of learning,” he stated during the tour.

The chairman assessed ongoing work at the Umuigbo Smart School site, expressing satisfaction with the scale and quality of construction. He described the digital classrooms, science laboratories, innovation hubs, and e-libraries as “game-changing tools that will birth a generation of globally competitive students equipped with 21st-century skills.”

In a touching moment during his visit to Umuchigbo Community High School, Anike was warmly welcomed by staff and students celebrating their end-of-session ceremony. With deep emotion, he recounted his role in establishing the school in 2008, a project that has now evolved into one of Enugu State’s most vibrant and populated secondary institutions.

“This school holds a special place in my heart. It’s a full-circle moment for me to see it now becoming part of this transformative Smart School revolution. Come September, our students here will resume in a fully equipped digital learning environment,” he announced joyfully.

The Smart Green School project, championed by Governor Mbah, is currently being implemented across all local governments in the state, with over 260 cutting-edge model schools under construction. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between traditional classroom learning and the demands of the global digital economy.

“The Smart School system is a blueprint for the future. It will revolutionize learning and unleash creativity, critical thinking, and digital competency among our children,” Anike emphasized.

He further applauded Governor Mbah’s strategic vision and political will to confront decades of systemic failure in public education through massive investment in infrastructure, technology, and human capital development.

“Thanks to the courageous and strategic leadership of Dr. Peter Mbah, a new chapter in education is being written — one that is future-ready, inclusive, and innovation-driven,” he declared.

Engr Anike confirmed that the local government is working closely with the Ministry of Education to ensure that the transition to the new digital learning model in September will be seamless and impactful.
